Chocolate Lake Water Quality Meets Standards

(Friday, September 1,2006) - HRM has been advised that Chocolate Lake, Armdale, once again meets water quality standards for swimming.

Regular testing performed last week by the Nova Scotia Department of the Environment at HRM’s supervised beaches showed high bacteria levels in the water at Chocolate Lake. “No Swimming” signs were posted.

HRM thanks the public for its cooperation and apologizes for any inconvenience.

Residents are reminded that HRM’s Summer Beach Program ended on August 27th and therefore, there is no longer life guard service at its 24 designated supervised swimming areas.
