Official Opening of HRM’s Municipal Archives

(Tuesday, September 19/06)---- Mayor Peter Kelly and members of Halifax Regional Council will officially mark the opening of the new Municipal Archives at an event on Thursday.

The new archives, located in Burnside Park, houses records of HRM since the amalgamation, as well as the former cities of Halifax and Dartmouth, the former Town of Bedford and the former County of Halifax, some dating back to the early 1800s.

Former mayors, wardens, councillors and senior staff of the Halifax Regional Municipality, the former municipal units, will be in attendance at the event.

There will be displays, refreshments and tours of the facility.
