Canadian Association of Fire Investigators Meet In Halifax, October 4,5, & 6
(Monday, October 2, 2006) - Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency is hosting Fire Investigators from across Canada at the National Fall Conference, October 4, 5 and 6 at the Citadel Halifax Hotel. The 26th annual conference will see over 100 investigators attend the 3 day conference.
Fire & Explosion Investigator, Wayne Chapdelaine, Provincial Director for CAFI, is honored to host this valuable conference for those who serve in Canada’s most trusted profession.
John Lentini, author of "Scientific Protocols for Fire Investigation" will be the keynote speaker. Lentini is well known for his work on the “Innocence Project” in the United States, working with people falsely accused of arson.
Also presenting will be Dr. Matt Bowes, Chief Medical Examiner for Nova Scotia, Sgt. Mark Hartlen, Halifax Regional Police and representatives from the Ontario Fire Marshals Office .
The theme for CAFI 2006 is “making Investigation training count”.
This is the first time in 26 years the conference was held in Halifax.
