Time Capsule Placed in Firefighter Statue

Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency

(Tuesday, November 14, 2006 ) - Officials from Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency and Mayor Peter Kelly will place a time capsule in a firefighter statue at University Avenue Fire Station to be opened in 100 years.

When:   Wednesday, November 15, 2006
Where: 5988 University Avenue Fire Station,
Time:    10:00 a.m.

The statue was built from a 150 year old poplar tree downed by Hurricane Juan and carved by one of their Platoon Chiefs, Paul Hopkins. Various items will be placed in the time capsule to be open by the Chief of the Day in 2106.
