Residents of Fall River, Musquodoboit Harbour and Bedford Waterfront area invited to Community Visioning Kick Off

(Monday, November 27, 2006) - Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting residents of the communities of Fall River, Musquodoboit Harbour, and the Bedford Waterfront area (including Mill Cove) to attend the kick off of a new community visioning process. The three communities, designated as Centres in the Regional Plan, will be the first to take part in HRM’s Community Visioning Project in 2007.

Community Visioning provides an informal opportunity for communities to think creatively about how they could function, how they might change, and what they might look like over a 15-25-year time frame.

The event’s program will begin at 7:00 P.M. with a celebration of community, featuring local performers and artists sharing their talents. At 7:30 P.M., volunteers from each community, working with HRM staff, will introduce the Community Visioning project and talk about some of the ways you might get involved, including volunteering as a member of a Community Liaison Group (CLG) or participating in hands-on learning through workshops and informal community meetings and working sessions. A small reception will follow.
