New Spryfield Recreation Centre Opens This Weekend

(Wednesday, January 10/07)-- Spryfield’s new recreation centre will open to the community this Saturday.

District 18 Councillor Stephen Adams and Rene Quigley, King Lion of the Spryfield Lions Club, will cut the ribbon during a brief ceremony to officially declare the new facility open, This will be followed by an Open House for the public.

The new recreation centre, which is located in the former bingo hall of the Spryfield Lions Rink complex, will offer programming for residents of all ages, facilities for indoor sports (ie volleyball, basketball etc.) and a study room.

Councillor Adams said “The new recreation centre will offer something for everyone–young and old alike. This is just the beginning. We hope to increase and enhance the programming as we move forward.”
