Local Residents to Build Uniacke Community Rink

(Friday, January 12/07)-- Local area volunteers will be re-assembling the outdoor community ice rink at the George Dixon Centre tomorrow.

Councillor Dawn Sloane said this marks the second season that the Uniacke Square area residents have organized a rink-building day.

“This has proven to be a great family event and an even greater pass-time for the youth to enjoy,” Councillor Sloane said. “The community rink was a huge success last year and the residents are looking forward to it again.”

The Councillor said organizers are also appealing to the public to donate ice skates for the event, particularly for girls and boys in sizes 7,8,9, and10.
