(Thursday, February 1, 2007)-- Residents of north Dartmouth are being encouraged to attend a special meeting this weekend -- and one on February 25th--to discuss potential options to ensure the future operation of Farrell Hall.
Councillor Jim Smith, Interim Chair of the Farrell Benevolent Society, said today an ad hoc committee has completed its mandate to investigate options for the Society's Hall operation and have passed their recommendations to the Interim Board
“The Interim Board has called the two meetings, as required by the Society's by-laws , to discuss and vote on the recommendations, which include options for a mortgage or line
of credit,” he said. “Recommendations of this sort must be approved by at least 75
per cent of the members present. The future of Farrell Hall is at stake and all residents are encouraged to come out to these meetings.”
