New Safety Equipment for Sackville Centres

(Monday, February 12/07)-- Sackville Councillors Brad Johns and Bob Harvey have provided money out of their District Funds to purchase defibrillators to community centres in their area.

Two life-saving defibrillators are being provided to the Sackville Sports Stadium and one-each to the Sackville Heights Community Centre and the Springfield Lake Recreation Centre.

Also known as Automated External Defibrillators (AED), the equipment is used in emergency situations to treat Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA).

The Councillors will be meeting with representatives of the three facilities later this week and be given a demonstration of how the equipment is used.
