HRM Seeks Additional Public Input Regarding Off-Leash Strategy

(Tuesday, March 6, 2007) - Halifax Regional Municipality will hold an additional workshop to encourage public input into its draft Off Leash Park Strategy.

The workshop will held at the Halifax Forum on Wednesday, March 14th from 6:30-9:30 PM. Residents, park users and dog owners are invited to attend.

The strategy outlines what ideas and issues are at hand for developing an Off Leash Parks Strategy for parks throughout HRM and, in particular, the process to designate special areas for dogs to run off-leash. Key principles of the strategy are accessibility, affordability, balance, cleanliness, environmental/cultural sustainability and natural beauty.
