News Release

New North End Halifax Regional Police Community Office

(Friday, March 16, 2007) A new North End Halifax Regional Police Community Office has opened at 3550 Novalea Drive, in North End Halifax.

This community office is the result of feedback from the community to the District 11 Councillor, Patrick Murphy, and the Halifax Regional Police (HRP) regarding concerns for public safety. The Community Response Officer for the area, Constable Ian Burke, will be working out of the new Community Office. “HRP Community Offices, such as this one, enable the police to have a presence in the heart of the community and build relationships with the residents,” says Constable Burke.”

Councillor Patrick Murphy, the Councillor for District 11, credits working with the community and Halifax Regional Police and Chief Frank Beazley, as well as, the support from the business community, for making this HRP Community Office a reality. “I would like to thank HRP and Chief Beazley, the residents of North End Halifax, Herman’s Holdings who own the property and Office Interiors who provided the furniture for the office. Without this support, we would not have been able to bring this valuable asset to our community,” says Councillor Murphy.

Councillor Murphy and Chief Beazley invite the community to join them at a Welcome Reception on Saturday, March 17, 2007, from 10 a.m. to noon at the North End Community Office to meet Constable Burke, see the new office and what it has to offer the community and enjoy some refreshments.
