Downtown Halifax Road Construction
(Friday, May 11, 2007) - Attention motorists, Harbour Solutions Project construction has closed Lower Water Street from Sackville to Prince Streets. The expected duration of construction is 6 weeks. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
Truck traffic traveling north on Lower Water Street from Terminal Road and Marginal Road should use the alternative truck route on Morris Street.
Motorists are also advised that 1 eastbound lane on Sackville Street between Hollis and Lower Water Streets has been restored.
The sidewalk on the south side of Sackville St. will remain closed for the duration of the work.
Please note, all shops and services adjacent to the work zones will remain open during the construction period.
The hours of work will be Monday to Friday 7:00am to 6:00pm, with weekends as required.
Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow. On site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize disruption.
