Municipal Equipment Display at the Grand Parade

(Tuesday May 22, 2007)-- Millions of dollars worth of municipal service equipment will be on display Friday, May 25, 2007 in the Grand Parade, as part of Halifax Regional Municipality's celebration of “National Public Works Week”. The theme for this year’s event is “Public Works: Moving Life Forward”.

HRM Transportation & Public Works Services representatives will be on hand to demonstrate the equipment ( i.e. street sweepers, sewer pumpers, backhoes, dump and plow trucks, etc.) and to explain how the many municipal services are delivered to the public.

Crews will begin moving the heavy equipment and displays into place early Friday morning and the public is invited to drop by and visit from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children,
accompanied by parents, and school groups are welcome.
