Mayor Kelly Invites Public to Show Support for Canadian Forces
(Thursday, May 31, 2007) - In honour of Canadian Forces Day (June 3), Mayor Peter Kelly, on behalf of Halifax Regional Council, has invited HRM citizens to Halifax Grand Parade this Friday to show appreciation for our men and women in uniform.
“Our military community has been an integral part of HRM since 1749, contributing to our defence, our economy, our culture and way of life,” said Mayor Kelly. “The Canadian Forces have been there when we needed them the most—from managing disasters on our own shores like Swissair and Hurricane Juan, to countless missions overseas.
