Street to be re-Named After Former Councillor

(Friday, June 15/07)-- A Dartmouth Street is being named in honour of a long-time popular municipal politician and his wife.

Councillor Bill Karsten says a special ceremony will be held Monday (June 18) to mark the renaming of a portion of Jayden Drive to Sarto Drive in recognition of the many years of dedication and service to the community by former Dartmouth Alderman and HRM Councillor Condo Sarto and his, wife Betty.

Councillor Karsten says Mr. Sarto was an educator and also served as a representative on municipal Councils for 25 years.

“Together with his wife, Betty, former Councillor Sarto is widely respected by residents for his many efforts over the years to make our community a better place to live and play,” he said. “They are certainly very deserving of this recognition and behalf of District 7, I extend our heartfelt thanks to them.”
