Street Renaming Ceremony

(Friday, June 15, 2007) - A ceremony to rename Churchill Drive to Roleika Drive will take place at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 18th at the corner of the current Churchill Drive and Caledonia Road.

Roleika Drive is named after Roleika Downey, a former student of Caledonia Drive who passed away a few years ago but who remains an inspiration to the community and students in the school.

The ceremony will include installation of the new sign by municipal crews, a presentation to Roleika's mother (who still lives on Churchill Drive), and presentations to the three Caledonia Junior High School students who won a contest to choose the name.

Prior to the ceremony, Mayor Kelly and Councillor Andrew Younger will be at Caledonia Junior High to meet with students.
