Road Repairs in Downtown Halifax This Sunday

(Friday, June 22/07)-- Motorists are advised that asphalt crews will be working in the Halifax downtown on Sunday (June 24).

As a result, the off-ramp on Barrington Street that connects to Cogswell Street will be closed from 5 a.m. Sunday morning to enable crews to work safely.

In addition, traffic will be flagged on Barrington Street and Hollis St. from approximately 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. that same day.

If this work were to be carried out on a weekday it could seriously affect traffic and pedestrians flows in these areas. In order to cause as little inconvenience as possible to the travelling public, this necessary work is being done on a Sunday.

Motorists are advised to use extreme caution when travelling in the construction zones and are encouraged, if possible, to seek another travel route on that day.

HRM apologizes for any inconvenience.
