Local Artists To Paint Murals Along Bedford Row

(Wednesday, July 4/07) - Halifax Regional Municipality and Public Works and Government Services Canada are hosting a two-day community event on Friday, July 6 and Saturday, July 7, where 16 local artists will be painting a mural each along Bedford Row in downtown Halifax. The murals will be seven feet high by seven feet wide and will reflect cultural diversity, history and contemporary art. Mayor Peter Kelly will welcome the artists.

WHAT:    Bedford Row Mural Project Kick-Off Event
WHERE:  Dominion Public Building on Bedford Row between George and          Prince  Streets
DATE:      Friday, July 6 and Saturday, July 7, 2007
TIME:       Friday, 12 p.m.

The canvas for the artists will be “construction hoarding” abutting the historic Dominion Public Building. Completed murals will be on display for two years during renovations to the building.

NOTE: In the case of inclement weather, the event will be postponed until Saturday, July 7th.
