Drowning Prevention Events Planned

(Tuesday, July 24/07)-- Halifax Regional Municipality will be marking National Drowning Prevention Day this Saturday, July 28th at several of its supervised beaches.

There will water safety and rescue demonstrations and information will be handed out pertaining to children’s water safety, as well as materials from the Canadian Cancer Society regarding proper sun screen protection.

The events will take place at Kearney Lake; Oakfield Beach, Grand Lake; Birch Cove Beach, Lake Banook; and Pleasant Drive beach Petpeswick Lake.
