Downtown Halifax Road Construction

(Wednesday, July 25, 2007) - Attention motorists, on or after Thursday, July 26, 2007 Harbour Solutions Project related construction will require the closure of a 110 metre section of the curbside/ northbound lane of Barrington Street. The lane closure will begin just north of the Cogswell Street ramp merging lane onto Barrington Street and proceed 110 metres north along Barrington Street. This is the area directly adjacent to/west of the Halifax Wastewater Treatment Facility.

The expected duration of the work is six working days.

Please note, all shops and services adjacent to the work zone will remain open during the construction period.

The hours of work will be Monday to Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm, with weekends as required. As noted, in order to minimize traffic impacts, construction crews will be off street at 4:00pm to allow for the smooth flow of peak time traffic.
Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow. On site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize disruption.
