Beechville-Lakeside-Timberlea Trail Tour

(Thursday, September 13, 2007) - HRM Trails is hosting the latest of its monthly Saturday morning trail tours this Saturday to introduce the Beechville-Lakeside-Timberlea Trail to walkers, hikers, bikers and trail-users of all ages.

The full trail tour begins with registration and information at 9:00 a.m. at the trail head in the Lakeside Industrial Park, near the Coca-Cola bottling plant.

Mayor Peter Kelly, HRM District 22 Councillor Reg Rankin and Timberlea Prospect MLA Bill Estabrooks are expected to attend.

Light refreshments - fruit and water - will be offered at the 5 km rest stop at the Anglican Church, and several benches along the trail allow rest and snack breaks. The full length of the Trail Tour is 13 km and may take as long as five hours, but participants are encouraged to attend for whatever portion they feel comfortable completing.

One more Trail Tour is currently scheduled for 2007: a tour of the Bedford-Sackville Connector Greenway on Saturday October 13.
