MEDIA ADVISORY

Traffic Delays on Portion of Sackville Drive

(Thursday, October 25/07)-- Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays along Sackville Drive to the Lively Subdivision for the next two weeks as the result of new sewer and water pipe installation.

HRM and the Halifax Regional Water Commission (HRWC) are undertaking the project to provide existing Lively Subdivision residents with direct access to the municipal water and sewer systems. The work is proposed to be completed by late 2007 or Spring 2008.

Beginning next Monday (October 29, 2007), there will be traffic delays on Sackville Drive on the section of that road, between the turnoff to the Old Sackville Road near Rose Mary Avenue to where the loop comes out near the Atlantic Gardens Nursery.

Motorists are advised to exercise extreme caution when travelling in the construction zone, and if possible, to seek an alternate travel route until the project is completed.

HRM apologizes for any inconvenience.
