Temporary Street Closures on Remembrance Day

(Friday, November 9/07)-- Motorists are advised that there will be a number of temporary street closures in the downtown Halifax business district on Sunday, November 11, as part of Remembrance Day ceremonies.

The following intersections will be blocked to traffic on that day from 8:30 a.m. until noon.

Argyle Street and Duke Street
Carmichael Way and Argyle Street
Duke Street and Barrington Street
Barrington Street and Prince Street

Halifax Regional Police will be re-routing vehicular traffic (except for transit buses) to Brunswick Street and Hollis Street during this period.

Due to the presence of civilian and military buses and other vehicles, as well as large numbers of veterans, senior citizens and residents travelling on foot, motorists are advised to exercise extreme caution when travelling in the downtown core.

HRM apologizes for any inconvenience.
