Mayor Peter J. Kelly to Join Provincial Partner for Launch of Important Geothermal Energy Project in the Halifax Regional Municipality

(Friday, November 16, 2007)-- His Worship Mayor Peter J Kelly along with a provincial representative will be on-site to mark the start of construction on the Alderney 5 Advanced Geothermal Energy Project.

The Alderney 5 project is a $3.6 million energy efficiency retrofit of five buildings on the Dartmouth waterfront that are owned by the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM). This project is the first large scale application of geothermal cold energy storage anywhere in the world.
