Large Turnout Expected for Spryfield Santa Claus Parade

(Friday, November 23/2007)-- Deputy Mayor Stephen Adams says organizers are expecting a large turnout this weekend for the annual Spryfield Santa Claus Parade.

The Deputy Mayor says the parade will begin Sunday ( November 25), at Punch Bowl Drive and proceed along the Herring Cove Road to the Dentith Road at South Centre Mall.

There will be temporary road closures along the Herring Cove Road, such as the Williams Lake Road and the Old Sambro Road, to accommodate the parade, so motorists are urged to try to avoid those areas leading up to, and during, the parade. Pedestrians and motorists alike are advised to exercise extreme caution when travelling in the area of the parade route.

"Thousands turn our for this annual parade and I extend an invitation to residents throughout HRM to come along and join in the fun," he said."The parade provides excellent family entertainment and we want everyone to have a great time."
