90th Anniversary of Halifax Explosion Events

(Monday, November 26, 2007) - Below is a list of events taking place to commemorate the 90th Anniversary of the Halifax Explosion.

Saturday, December 1: Walking tour of Halifax's North End at noon, the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. Call 424-7491 to register for free.

Saturday, December 1: The Halifax Explosion Memorial Gala Concert at 7:30 PM at McNally Theatre Auditorium, Saint Mary's University hosted by Dr. J. Colin Dodds, President. Contact
Greg King for tickets at 860-0530.

Sunday, December 2: David Stone, musical tribute, at 7:30 PM at O'Carroll's. For tickets call 423-4405. All proceeds will go to the Halifax School for the Blind.

Tuesday, December 4: Shattered Ship: The Remains of the Mont - Blanc at 7:30 PM at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. This talk is free of charge. Contact the museum at 424-7491 for more information.

Thursday, December 6:
Memorial Day Events
8:50 AM Annual Halifax Explosion Memorial Service at Fort Needham with dedication in honour of the 90th Anniversary.
Reception to follow at the United Memorial Church, 5375 Kaye St., Halifax.
10:00 AM Halifax Regional Fire Services Memorial Event at Station 4, 5830 Lady Hammond Rd.
11:00 AM Annual Dartmouth Memorial Service by the Mont-Blanc canon at the corner of Albro Lake Rd and Pinecrest Dr. Special dedication.

Memorial Evening Event
The Halifax Explosion: A Tribute in Song and Word at 7:00 PM at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. Admission is $5.00/person with proceeds going to APSEA and the Halifax School for the Blind. Contact the museum at 424-7491 for more information.

Sunday, December 9: Service at United Memorial Church, 5375 Kaye St., at 10:30 AM.
