Downtown Halifax Road Construction

(Thursday, November 29, 2007) - Attention motorists, on or after Thursday, November 29th Harbour Solutions Project related construction will get underway in the area of Lower Water and Duke Streets. The construction will take place adjacent to the Law Courts building parking exits.

The scheduled duration of construction is 5 days.

The work will require the closure of the east side, northbound lane of Upper Water Street near the intersection with Duke Street. The sidewalk on the east side of the work zone will be closed The west side sidewalk and the west side northbound lane will remain open at all times.

The hours of work will be Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 5:30pm, with weekends as required.

Motorists are asked to use extreme caution when driving through the work area.

Please note, all shops and services adjacent to the work zone will remain open during the construction period.

Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow. On site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize disruption.
