Continuing Downtown Natural Gas Pipeline Installations

(Wednesday, December 12/07)-- Motorists are advised that Heritage Gas, in conjunction with its contractor Sackville Trenching, will continue natural gas pipeline installations in the Halifax downtown area commencing on or about December 13, 2007. This work is necessary at this time to meet natural gas service commitments for this year to several downtown customers. The streets involved are:

Prince Street (Hollis to Grafton);
Grafton Street (for 65 m north of Prince);
Argyle Street (Prince to Sackville);
Sackville Street (for 15 m west of Argyle);
Bedford Row (Prince to Sackville)

The expected duration of this work is two to three weeks. Construction shall cease on December 21 for the Christmas period. Work will resume as necessary in January until the project is completed. No street closures are planned and construction restrictions will be in place such that peak hour traffic movements will be maintained. However, motorists should expect some delays during the construction period.

Heritage Gas and HRM apologize for any inconvenience.
