Volunteers required to make Fall River's CommunityVision a Reality

(Monday, January 28, 2008) - The Fall River Community Liaison Group (CLG) is seeking volunteers to ensure the community's Vision becomes a reality over the next 10 to 25 years. Residents are invited to a public meeting the evening of Wednesday, January 30th to receive an overview of the visioning process to date and to learn on how they can become part of the next steps.

The CLG is recruiting members to serve on a Vision Implementation Committee and looking for interested residents to join Task Groups for the five major themes identified in the Vision Action Plan:


• Housing
• Economic Development
• Community Development
• Open Space
• Transit

Volunteers need only to be passionate about their community and able to offer a one to two year commitment (expertise in the theme areas is not required).

Time:       7:00 - 9:00 pm
Where:    Ash Lee Jefferson School (cafeteria), 10 Lockview Rd, Fall River

VisionHRM is a community led initiative that began in Fall 2006. It is a process that engages residents in dialogue on what their community should look like, feel like and be like 10-20 years into the future. The Vision and Action Plan for Fall River was endorsed by HRM Regional Council in late Fall 2007.
