HRM To Make Presentation to Senate Transport Committee

(Friday, February 8/08)-- Chief Administrative Officer Dan English will make a presentation on behalf of the Halifax Regional Municipality to the Senate Committee on Transport and Communication this afternoon in Halifax.

Mr. English will be speaking about HRM's pivotal role and support for the Atlantic Gateway initiative. Representatives of the Greater Halifax Partnership will be speaking about containerized freight traffic handled by Canada's ports; specifically, the institutional and physical obstacles to the competitiveness of Canada's intermodal transportation system.
