The Future of Community Facilities in HRM
(Friday, March 14/08)-- Halifax Regional Municipality is hosting a series of Open Houses throughout the region to discuss a master plan for the future of Community Facilities.
The Community Facility Master Plan will indicate what facilities will be constructed and improved over the next 20 years. The plan will also incorporate an arena capacity study and future planning for outdoor facilities.
Research so far includes that of the Indoor Recreation Facility Master Plan (2004), as well as recent focus groups with representation of over 50 facility user groups, an online survey (available at www.halifax.ca/facilities/CFMP until mid-April) and telephone survey.
The Open House locations are not community specific and will address Community Facilities throughout the region. They will take place from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at the following locations:
Monday, March 17th - O'Connell Drive School in Porter's Lake
Wednesday, March 19th - Quality Inn Bicentennial Room, 980 Parkland Drive in Halifax
Thursday, March 20th - Charles P Allen High School in Bedford
Thursday, March 27th - Duncan MacMillan High School in Sheet Harbour
Monday, March 31st - Dartmouth Sportsplex, Nantucket Room
Wednesday, April 2nd - Halifax Forum, Maritime Hall
Public comments produce results. For more information, or to fill out an online survey, visit www.halifax.ca/facilities/CFMP or e-mail us at CFMP@halifax.ca
