Risk Watch Implementation - Recognition Ceremony

(Thursday, March 13, 2007) - A luncheon reception and recognition ceremony to celebrate the implementation of "Risk Watch" in all Halifax Regional Municipality Schools and the Province of Nova Scotia, the first province to do so in Canada, will take place as follows:

Location:     Halifax Hall, 1841 Argyle Street, Halifax
Time:           12:00 - 2:00 p.m.


Risk Watch is a falls and injury prevention curriculum designed to help children ages four to fourteen, and their families make better choices about personal safety. The curriculum is taught in a school setting by qualified teachers. Risk Watch was an initiative of the Halifax Regional Municipality to attain a "Safe Community" status.

Officials from Safe Communities Canada, Halifax Regional Municipality, the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs and the Department of Education will be in attendance as well as the Mayor, Councillors and MLA's.
