Councillor, Safety Advocate Newest Members of Citizens on Patrol

(Monday, April 14/08)-- Councillor Dawn Sloane and Dr. John Gillis, organizers of the volunteer group Commons Watch, plan to be newest members of Halifax Regional Police's Citizens on Patrol (COP) for Central Division.

Councillor Sloane said she and Dr. Gillis believe the COP program is the perfect vehicle to help local residents become actively--and safely-- involved in reporting criminal activity in their neighbourhood. Both plan to sign-up this week.
