Launch of Good Neighbours, Great Neighbourhoods

(Monday, May 12, 2008) - On Wednesday, May 14th, Mayor Peter Kelly and Dan English, HRM's Chief Administrative Officer, will be joined by business and non-profit partners to officially launch a region-wide civic pride initiative called Good Neighbours, Great Neighbourhoods.

The launch will include the announcement of a new website and an online community for neighbours, as well as the presentation of a new Neighbourhood Toolkit, designed to give residents information they need to better their neighbourhoods.

In addition to the launch, two Sackville neighbours will publically recognize three youth who have made a difference in their neighbourhood.

Location: Playground, Ward 5 Neighbourhood Centre, 5540 Russell Street,  Halifax  (will be held inside Neighbourhood Centre in the event of rain)

A cake-cutting and barbecue will follow.
