Municipal Equipment Display at the Grand Parade

(Tuesday May 20, 2008)-- Millions of dollars worth of municipal service equipment will be on display Thursday, May 22, 2008, in the Grand Parade, as part of Halifax Regional Municipality's celebration of "National Public Works Week." The theme for this year's event is "The Future is Now".

HRM Transportation & Public Works Services representatives will be on hand to demonstrate the equipment ( i.e. street sweepers, sewer pumpers, backhoes, dump and plow trucks, etc.) and to explain how the many municipal services are delivered to the public.

Crews will begin moving the heavy equipment and displays into place early Thursday morning and the public is invited to drop by and visit from 10 AM to 2 PM. Children, accompanied by parents, and school groups, are welcome.
