Black Rock and Dingle Beaches Have Re-opened

(Friday, August 29, 2008) - HRM wishes to advise the public that Black Rock Beach and the Dingle Beach are now open for swimming. The beaches will be supervised until Monday, September 1st at 5 PM.

Please note, weekly water testing will continue at both Black Rock and Dingle beaches throughout September, but residents are advised to not swim for 3 days following a heavy rain event.

As with any wastewater treatment system in a large municipal jurisdiction, overflows of the wastewater collection system resulting from heavy rain can lead to temporarily elevated bacteria levels.

Always exercise caution when swimming in non-supervised areas, both at HRM lakes and the harbour.
