Lake Banook Course Enhancements Unveiled

(Monday, September 22, 2008)– Councillor Gloria McCluskey, District 5-Dartmouth Centre,recently unveiled the latest enhancements to the world class paddling and canoe course at Lake Banook.

Twenty new Multicoloured banners are now flying along Prince Albert Road depicting the water sports that have brought world wide attention to Dartmouth.

The project, funded by Councillor McCluskey with the cooperation and assistance of the Downtown Dartmouth Business Commission, is another step forward in promoting this world class facility.

Last month Lake Banook hosted the National Kayak & Canoe Championships.
Councillor McCluskey said, "We are very proud of the world class athletes that have trained and excelled on Lake Banook. We can all look forward to hosting the World Championships in 2009 at our world class facility."

Councillor McCluskey added, "Our Dartmouth community is proud to be the home of such a unique water venue. These latest additions will help draw attention to beautiful Lake Banook."
