NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING - HALIFAX MAINLAND

(Tuesday, September 30, 2008) A public information meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, beginning at 7:00 p.m., at St. Peter's Anglican Church Hall at Birch Cove (3 Dakin St.), Halifax, to discuss the following:

Implementation of the Western Shore Bedford Basin Land Use Planning Study

This study, which covers the western shore of Bedford Basin from Hogan's Point to the Bedford Waterfront, was approved in principle by Halifax Regional Council in Spring 2008. The purpose of this meeting is to provide a re-cap of the recommendations from the study and to discuss the process to implement these recommendations. This will entail a further urban design study for a portion of the area, changes to the policies of the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-Law regulations, and how residents, property owners and stakeholders can be involved.

All interested citizens are welcome to attend.
