Removal, Reuse and Recycling of Election Signs
(Tuesday, October 21, 2008) Candidates of the recent federal, municipal and school board election are reminded to promptly remove their signs.
In support of Waste Reduction Week( October 19th to 25th) candidates are reminded that the storage of election signs for future use is the most environmentally friendly management option.
Candidates seeking to dispose of their signs are advised that election signs ( Coroplast , and stiff paper) will be accepted at the HRM Material Recycling facility, 20 Horseshoe Drive, Bayers Lake Business Park between 8 am and 5 :30 pm, Monday to Friday, until November 7th. To be accepted, signs are to be void of wood, and nails, and are to be bundled and separate from other recyclables.
