Halifax Regional Municipality Commemorates 91st Anniversary of Halifax Explosion

(Wednesday, December 3, 2008) - The Halifax Regional Municipality invites citizens to attend events that will be held throughout the day, on Saturday, December 6th, to commemorate the 91st anniversary of the Halifax Explosion. Events will begin at Fort Needham Hill in Halifax at 8:55am to mark the moment that the collision of the SS Imo and the SS Mont Blanc rocked communities around the Halifax Harbour. Mayor, Peter Kelly, Halifax North End Councillor Jerry Blumenthal and Nova Scotia Health Promotion and Protection Minister, Barry Barnet will be in attendance.

When:    Saturday, December 6, 2008 beginning at 8:55 am
Where:   Fort Needham Hill, Halifax
