CANCELLATION OF PUBLIC MEETING/WORKSHOP HAMMONDS PLAINS

(Monday, January 19, 2009) The public meeting/workshop scheduled for Monday, January 19, 2009, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Hammonds Plains Community Centre, 2041 Hammonds Plains Road, Hammonds Plains, NS has been cancelled due to the inclement weather and school closures. The meeting will be rescheduled at a later date. The purpose of the public meeting is to discuss and gather public comment on possible amendments to the Beaver Bank, Hammonds Plains and Upper Sackville Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law. The proposed amendment for discussion is as follows:

Case No. 01186 - Application by 3227459 Nova Scotia Limited to amend the Beaver Bank, Hammonds Plains and Upper Sackville Municipal Planning Strategy (MPS) and Land Use By-law (LUB) to enable commercial development at Hammonds Plains Road and Kingswood Drive (PID #'s 00422493 and 41185539), Hammonds Plains.

Staff will also be exploring the possible creation of MPS policy which would enable the establishment of community commercial land uses at or in the vicinity of the intersection of Hammonds Plains Road and Kingswood Drive/Gatehouse Run
