Sustainability Seminar

(Tuesday, January 20, 2009) - HRM, in association with the Swedish Consulate, Canada Green Building Council - Atlantic Chapter and Dalhousie University will be hosting a seminar entitled "Making Our Community Sustainable, Successful Sustainability Initiatives in Sweden and Nova Scotia". The seminar will take place on Thursday, January 22nd from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm in the Tupper Building, Room Tupper C1 of Dalhousie University.

Presenters:

Sofie Adolfsson Jörby, Ph.D., Environmental Coordinator, Boverket, Sweden
Allan Crandlemire, Executive Director, Conserve Nova Scotia
Peter Duncan, P.Eng., Manager, Infrastructure Planning, HRM
John W. Lindsay Jr., President, East Port Properties Limited

The seminar will profile: examples of Sweden's successful initiatives and efforts to reduce energy consumption and Green House Gas (GHG) emissions: green rebuilding and transportation; and Nova Scotia and HRM's sustainability initiatives. There will also be a panel discussion regarding sustainability actions feasible for HRM and Nova Scotia.

Please note: After the seminar there will be a half hour question and answer session for the media.
