Saturday's Incident with Metro Transit Bus Operator

(Monday, March 16, 2009) An incident occurred on Spring Garden Road on Saturday where a Metro Transit bus operator left his bus and involved himself in a demonstration. The General Manager of Metro Transit, Pat Soanes, will be briefing the media this afternoon on this incident at 3:15 pm, in the Media Room of Halifax City Hall.

"MetroTransit in no way condones the kind of behaviours recently reported. Like everyone else, we are deeply concerned," says Ms. Soanes. "Events such as those of the past weeks are rare in our organization. We take pride in our operations, and work very hard to ensure a positive environment for all our employees and patrons."
