Youth Honoured for Her Work to Educate about Epilepsy

(Tuesday, March 24, 2009) A nine year old girl, named Cassidy Megan, from District 22 - Timberlea-Prospect, will be honoured today for her work in educating people about epilepsy. Cassidy founded Purple Day which is an international grassroots effort dedicated to increasing awareness about epilepsy worldwide. On March 26, people from around the globe are asked to wear purple and spread the word about epilepsy.

Cassidy will be joining Mayor Peter Kelly and Councillor Reg Rankin, District 22, at City Hall to receive a certificate, signed by the Mayor and Councillor Rankin, today at 5.45 PM. Also, Councillor Rankin plans to recognize Cassidy’s work at the beginning of Regional Council this evening.
