Important Note to Editors

(Thursday, April 16, 2009) - Further to the Media Advisory issued Tuesday by Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency, Warrant Officer and firefighter Barry Bastow's return flight from Afghanistan has been delayed. At this time we do not know when he is expected to arrive in Halifax.

Bastow, a member of the Kandahar Provincial Reconstruction Team, has been in Afghanistan for the past 6 months. He had taken a leave of absence from his job as a firefighter with Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency. Bastow is a member of the 33rd Service Battalion, Halifax.
