Lake Banook Site Improvements - Temporary Park Closures

(Wednesday, May 6th, 2009) - In preparation for the 2009 ICF Sprint Canoe World Championships (August 12th -16th , 2009) HRM will make improvements to several parks around Lake Banook. In the interest of public safety, it will be necessary to temporarily close some parks while the construction takes place. Construction will begin mid-May and will continue until the end of July. Further updates will be issued as construction progresses. Vehicular traffic may also experience delays along Prince Albert Road.

The parks affected include:
1. Birch Cove Park (includes beach closure)
2. Turtle Grove Park
3. Nowlan Street Parking Lot
4. Lion’s Beach Park (includes beach closure)
5. Special Events Plaza - MicMac Aquatic Club
6. Corner of Prince Albert Road and Nowlan Street
7. Graham’s Grove Park (small area only)
