Do you have the Velvet Touch?

(Friday, May 15, 2009) - In celebration of National Public Works Week, May 19 to 23, members of the media and senior HRM staff are invited to see if they have the Velvet Touch needed to smoothly operate a backhoe.

The person who is best able to use a backhoe to manouevre water from one 45-gallon drum to another will be the recipient of the "Velvet Touch Award." and bragging rights for a year. If someone in your newsroom thinks they have the touch or if they simply want to come out and have fun trying, please contact Don Pellerine, HRM Transportation and Public Works at 490-6087.

The competition will take place Friday, May 22nd at noon in the Grand Parade, City Hall.
