Natural Gas Pipeline Installation on South Street, Halifax

(Wednesday, May 20/09)-- Motorists are advised that Heritage Gas, in conjunction with its contractor R.B. Sommerville, will be installing a natural gas steel pipeline on South Street between Robie Street and the Victoria General power plant for which this pipeline will provide service.

In order to install the pipeline as quickly as possible and to minimize traffic disruption, South Street from Robie Street to Wellington Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from May 21 to June 1, 2009.

Access for IWK Health Centre emergency vehicles and for local traffic to the parking areas will be maintained at all times. Metro Transit will detour to University Avenue during the closure

Motorists should plan alternate routes for the duration of this street closure.
