Halifax Wastewater Treatment Facility information available

(July 3, 2009) - With the expectation that the Halifax Wastewater Treatment Facility will continue to be of broad public interest, information is being regularly posted at http://www.halifax.ca/HWWTF/index.html - the website dedicated to the restoration effort.

There you will find the most recent update which went out Thursday by email to numerous businesses, organizations, and individuals who have an interest in the Harbour Solutions Project. Photographs from the June 30 presentation to council are also now posted and are available for use.

Also new to the site is information on steps being taken to lessen the impact of the plant shutdown. This includes plans for the use of large ozone machines to reduce odour in the downtown, and the proposal to temporarily divert dry weather flows back to the Halifax plant for screening and discharge further into the harbour.
