Sir Paul McCartney Day in HRM

(Friday, July 10, 2009) - Mayor Peter Kelly, on behalf of Halifax Regional Council, has declared Saturday, July 11, 2009 as Sir James Paul McCartney Day in the Halifax Regional Municipality.

The music legend twice inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as a member of the former Beatles and then again as a solo artist, has added immeasurably to the musical enjoyment of the people of Halifax Regional Municipality throughout his stellar career. Halifax will be rocking tomorrow with Sir Paul taking to the stage at dusk. As this is McCartney’s only Canadian tour it will certainly put Halifax on the map as an international event destination.
